Keeping It Social - Saturday 11th August 2012

With the Barmy summer weather upon us, a trip to Wales was on the cards for at least one day of the weekend.  Time on the rivers has been somewhat restricted over the past few months due to high levels and plenty of rain.  Today was different with a tropical 20 degrees forecast, not the best for a days fishing but we wern't complaining.

Its normally just myself and Dad taking the trip to the river and enjoying the days, but today was an exception.  We both decided to involve the Fly Fishing widows our better other halfs!.  I know what your thinking but brownie points in the bag for future days.....

The beer, wine and BBQ was packed along with plenty of other goodies for refreshments.

The river was on form and as we started fishing later in the afternoon the Grayling and Trout were happy to take in the variety of dries thrown at them, no noticeable hatches but with the cloud cover they were certainly looking up.  A few hours on the French leader set up produced my biggest fish of the day, a cracking Grayling.

With the BBQ at full pelt, steak, kebabs and piri piri chicken was the order for early evening, Jamie Oliver would have been proud of my cooking skills.  Chilled lager and wine a plenty made for a cracking day.  Introducing the Ladys (not the Grayling) to "our world" proved a big success, the river was on form and no better place to be when its this good.

It really does pay to keep it Social.....

Until Next Time.......Tight Lines
