Having ventured out on a couple of occasions already this year into mid Wales and successfully got hooked up into some Grayling, nothing to break any records but all the same great to get your string pulled and be out and about once again. Being out and about got me thinking..........
I have the pleasure of reading many Blogs and websites which give me valuable information on river tactics, fly patterns and the excellent pictures of the days catches and surroundings. I too do the same and wouldn't change it for the world, but amongst all this do we ever pay tribute to the Club or Clubs we are members of ?. If you are a blogger and have done so already, then I apologise in advance but I would like to put into print my praises for one of the clubs I'm a member of C.A.D.A.C.
I have been a member of Corwen for only a short time, about five years and I was introduced to the club by an angler and member I had bumped into on the Dee on several occasions and also met up with at the BFFI. Recommendations to join various angling clubs have come and gone in years gone by, but this was different. No pressure No sales Pitch just a fellow angler telling you how it is and what a great club and waters were on offer "Thanks Dylan".
So what does Corwen have to offer?, well in a nutshell "Everything" that a river angler could wish for within the British isles of course, the home page of their webpage says it all
"Welcome to the Corwen and District Angling Club (CADAC) website.
We have some of the best Grayling fishing in Europe with 2lb Grayling commonplace and 3lb+ specimen fish caught each season. Most of our beats are easy to access and wading is on gravel. We also have a good number of Salmon caught each season to fly, spinner and bait."
The Grayling being high on my priority list features heavily on the Dee, and plenty of 2lb specimens hitting the net since we joined, bigger fish are around and its only a matter of time before one of the big ones get caught.
The miles of water on offer make every trip a challenge and different, even more so this year as I have joined as as Salmon member and with the Dee numbers on the increase lets hope at least one "Tourist" hits the net"
CADAC really is a special club to be part of, and it really shines thorough as each and every member you bump into on the bank will share a word and talk tactics. Work parties are a regular event and the club forum gives members the opportunity to talk and swap stories. Not only that the club has an ever growing junior section which will be developed further during the coming year.
All this and its certainly not over priced, in fact for what's on offer its a bargain, Membership 2013.

This is no recruitment drive for the club, nor am I going into print for any gain, this post is to show my support for a well run and organised angling club which I believe doesn't get enough credit that it deserves. Well done to all at C.A.D.A.C, its a true pleasure being part of a forward thinking angling club.
