Upper Wye saves the day - 24th Ocober 2014

With a deluge of rain over the past few days and our chosen river high and coloured and not really fishable, we decided upon plan B.

The Wye & Usk Passport scheme came to our rescue a quick phone call to the office to book our tickets and the maps would be sent through to our mobiles.  Ideal as we were all itching to get some fishing in.  Dad, Robbo and I  were buzzin to wet a line on a new stretch of river.  It was higher than normal but running a lot clearer than we had expected.

It was on with the heavy nymphs and Robbo was first to strike into an Trout, quickly released.  We all caught a few and early signs were good that the fish were feeding.  The Grayling however were proving to be as nomadic as ever and later in the afternoon I managed to winkle one out.

The section of river and surroundings are idyllic and a cracking piece of water.  We will certainly return as I'm sure it has larger Grayling to offer. It was a great day as always with good banter throughout.

Here are a few Photos of the day.

Until Next Time.......Tight Lines
