Tweedswood Spring Open Day - Saturday 13th March 2010

I attended the spring open day at Tweedswood, a number of workshops were available if you wanted to improve your casting or brush up on your fishing skills and knowledge. It was the first time I had visited the Tweed and what a stunning part of the world this is, with a majestic river to match.

I decided upon a Grayling masterclass which was run by Ronnie Glass( A Scottish Rivers Champion). This concentrated on the Czech Nymphing method, flies and tactics. The session lasted a good two hours and was full of handy tips and tricks to help you winkle out those Grayling. I will certainly be putting it into practice.

Other workshops were also available and I took full advantage to attend and pick the brains of Peter Anderson, Andrew Toft,Mark Roberts,Peter McCallum(Fly Dressing) and Louis Noble to name but a few. With so many top casting instructors and anglers available to talk to and watch there wasn't enough hours in the day to see them all.

I did manage a short session after the Grayling on Sunday with little success, a strong wind ripping through made it difficult. Needless to say a cracking two days and it was all over to soon and a four hour trip back to Cheshire.
Many Thanks to everyone involved and for organising a great weekend, I can certainly recommend it to others, Looking forward to the next one.

Many Thanks

Until Next time................................Tight Lines
